About

Fishmobile

Fishmobile — a bike fishing trailer that connects to a bicycle or can be pulled by hand, giving kids freedom to fish when and where they want.

Fishmobile Features

The Fishmobile holds two 10-litre standard eskies that slide into aluminium tracks, so they don’t move while towing. There’s room for extra gear and four rod holders — perfect for different rods or a mate to join you.

The waterproof fabric liner stops smaller gear from falling through, covers everything like a lid, and comes off easily for cleaning. The Fishmobile has three points of contact for balance, so it won’t tip over even when fully loaded. We’ve checked Australian Safety Standards and added reflectors and signs so it’s safe and easy to spot.

It’s made from aluminium — strong, light, and one of the most recyclable materials in the world. In future, we plan to custom-mould the eskies from recycled or ocean-bound plastics.

Fishmobile Pricing
& Future Plans

A local trailer maker looked at our bike fishing trailer and said the price sounds realistic. They told us a retail price of $249–$299 is realistic and the total cost to build it should stay under $150. This means the trailer won’t cost too much for families to buy but can make a profit when it’s sold.

We plan to create three sizes of trailer, so families can choose the size that suits them best. The original, smallest, size is called the Pilchard, which is a small and easy-to-pull trailer with four rod holders. The Flattie is a medium size with six rod holders, and the large GT family version, which has eight rod holders, more room for gear, snacks, and anything else you want to bring.

In future, we also plan to modify the hitch design so the trailer can work with e-bikes, which a lot of kids ride now. This makes the Fishmobile useful for even more kids and families.

Optional Extras

We also have ideas for some optional extras that kids and parents might like. These include a fish-measuring ruler, a light for when it gets late, a small bin to hold rubbish and line, and a simple first aid kit for minor accidents, like hook jabs. All of these add-ons help kids fish safely, fish responsibly, and look after the environment, which is a big part of why we made the Fishmobile in the first place.

We’re also committed to donating 10% of all Fishmobile profits to Ozfish— helping clean rivers and teaching kids to care for the environment.
